The Academy Awards are Overrated

This is my opinion on what the Academy Awards are really about and why it would have made no difference if the writers were still on strike. The Oscars may be glamorous by they are not an accurate way of judging the best films and performances of the year.

  1. Hi Shane!

    Good job.

I like your tone in this. It’s interesting. Laid back yet animated.

    A few comments:

This feels a bit unfocused. It was an interesting ramble but might have been better if you had of picked one particular part of the show that bothers you.. or perhaps laid your your argument down in advance… “I’m Shane D’Antimo and the Academy Awards suck. Here’s why. Number 1 – … Number 2 – ….” kind of thing? Just to give it some momentum and help the viewer feel like we’re taking something away from this.

Tags are good and so is your headline. Your short description on YouTube.. again.. could have benefited from a clear focus…

It would not have made a difference if the writers were still on strike. We would have got to see who won and no-one would have been any less entertained by the bad jokes and musicail performances at the Oscars

    Overall – great first effort.
